United by the same theme, the voyage
SARA DE ROBIEN, stylist for a number of women’s magazines and a trained colourist is a researcher in the world of fashion. For many years she studied the collections of the couturiers in search of the latest trends. Her role was to choose and assemble outfits and accessories to be photographed and printed in the fashion pages of magazines. This gave her an experienced eye in picking out the latest tendencies in the fashion world.
“When we pack our suitcases we don’t always take the clothes that are adapted to the climate of our destination; clothes that are to fitting, too warm, that crease, etc. But, this is exactly the moment when we want to feel free, to become another person, wear clothes that are different. Luxurious dresses, ample, fluid and colourful. Clothes that are adapted to every moment and activity of the day, breakfast, swimming pool, lunch, shopping, cocktails… We needed to invent the right clothes while renewing with the tradition and elegance of the 60s and 70s…”
OLIVIA RIGOLI, globetrotter who conceived a hotel on a private island in the Caribbean. For the past 10 years she has been artistic director of Weisse Voyages travel agency in Paris where she travels the world searching for the best hotels and resorts.
“The genesis of Collection Voyage was a voyage in itself. My meeting with Sara de Robien was the key. Stylist, traveller, sensitive to tendencies with a sharp eye for fashion and a dressmaker herself, she was, like me, enthusiastic towards this wonderful idea. Sara is more “femme fatale “ whilst I am more “hippy”. This combination gave us the idea to dress women who travel yet want to stay true to local cultures.”
LAUREN JANOS worked in design and contemporary art. Her passion for the voyage and fashion made her a natural choice to join the team.
